Week 2 Lab Preparation

Objective: Discuss potential project problems, goals, and possible solutions

Potential project problems/ goals and possible solutions numbered (if any):


IDEA 1
Problem: We drop hair, lots of it. And it’s gross
Goal: Recycle it or do something useful
1)      Hair de-pollution blob
2)      Insulator (traps heat)
3)      Wings (feather keratin)
4)      Amor (reptile scale keratin)


IDEA 2
Problem: Aging (due to pollution, etc)
Goal: Detox and maintain youthful health
1) Sleep in a pomegranate, waterbed-type
2) Lotion

IDEA 3
Problem: Recycle bins that actually work
Goal: Help people recycle right

IDEA 4
Problem: Humans can’t climb well
Goal: Gecko climbers!
% already being researched… so maybe not

IDEA 5
Problem: Drunk Driving
Goal: Stop/ decrease drunk driving
1) Check BAL before start car ***
2)      Unlock wheels by blowing on them (BAL)
3)      Force driver to be not drunk somehow…

IDEA 6
Problem: In case of black out, wired charging is inconvenient
Goal: Wireless charging for medical devices

% maybe not feasible in 10 weeks

For next lab Thursday:

  • Ask professor and/ or TAs about our two top ideas
  • Clarify feasibility of each
  • Decide on which problem to use and make decision matrix on specific project for this course
